United Art and Education, Inc. is pleased to announce the
re-opening of its expanded retail store in Mishawaka, now located
at 5924 Grape Road. The store is part of the Indian Ridge Plaza,
at the corner of Grape Road and Indian Ridge Drive. The store will
officially open on Thursday, July 1, 2004 at 9 a.m. Store hours
are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
on Sunday.
The store now occupies a space which formerly housed Shoe Carnival
and three other adjoining store fronts. The move will increase the
sales floor area from 10,000 to 18,000 square feet. “Customers
can expect to see the ‘art’ side of our Art and Education
store; the new location will be big enough to support our full line
of fine art products. It will also offer teachers and parents a
bigger and brighter space to shop for their educational supplies
and toys,” said Dodi Gunawardhana, Retail Sales Coordinator.
According to store manager Susie Nobbe, the wider, brighter aisles
will offer a more shopper-friendly atmosphere.
With more than 10,000 art products alone, United Art and Education
will provide artists and hobbyist with a broad selection. “I’m
excited to be able to offer art supplies to the community,”
said Nobbe. Fine artists will find oil, watercolors and acrylics
as well as a wide selection of brushes, canvas, drawing supplies,
clay and other products, including instructional books for beginning
artists. Hobbyists can find materials for paper crafts, fiber arts,
jewelry making, scrapbooking, stamping and more. Parents can purchase
learning games for children as well as an assortment of children’s
art supplies for creative young minds.
Customers will still be able to purchase all of the educational resources
found at the former McKinley location, and new additions will arrive
regularly. Teachers can find bulletin board sets, classroom decorations,
certificates, stickers and incentives, learning games, books and
more.
The new location will also give the store more visibility in the
community and offer more convenience for customers. “I think
the expansion will lead to convenience for students and teachers.
Having a choice in where to shop for supplies is a treasure!”
said Jessi Lentych, Curator of Education/Public Programs for the
South Bend Regional Museum of Art.
In addition to the Mishawaka location, United Art and Education
has six other retail stores in Fort Wayne, Indianapolis and Goshen
as well as in Dublin and Centerville, Ohio. Its corporate headquarters,
located in Fort Wayne, is also home to its warehouse and mail-order
catalog operations. United Art and Education has been serving teachers
and schools nationwide for more than 44 years and is committed to
providing competitive pricing and fast, friendly customer service.
