Directions

Step 1: Take a 9x12" sheet of bristol and cut it into six 2x9" pieces. Measure and mark out 1/2" increments on the 2x9" pieces, as shown. Next score the bristol with ball point pen and ruler by making three lines on the 1/2" increments. At the score lines fold each of the six pieces and glue to form triangle-shaped rods.

Step 2: Glue two rods along the 12 edges of a 9x12 piece of bristol board. Cut and glue two rods along the 9 edges to finish the frame. Be sure to cut the rods at an angle so the ends line up with the triangle slope of the 12 rods.

Step 3: Continue cutting rods of varying lengths, and glue them to the bristol board inside the frame to form sections. (Create more rods if necessary.)

Step 4: Paint frame with metallic acrylics and let dry.

Step 5: Cut out the sections of bristol board in between the rods.

Step 6: Cut pieces of cellophane to match the cut-out sections and glue to the back of the frame.
